The first appearance of the children's choir on stage took place on 25 December 2013 in the Chamber hall of the theatre in the "Christmas concert". To date, the repertoire of the children's choir includes the following performances: "La Bohème", "Tosca", "Turandot" by G. Puccini, "Kyz Zhibek" by E. Brusilovsky, "Carmen" by J. Bizet, "Nutcracker" by P. Tchaikovsky, the cantata "Carmina Burana" by K. Orff, the musical fairy tale "The Tale of the Tiger" by J. K. Kuznetsov, and the musical fairy tale "The Tiger" by K. Kuznetsov. Orff, T.Beisenbek's musical fairy tale "Samuryk Kelgen Tan", "Birzhan – Sara" by M.Tulebaev, "Eugene Onegin" by P.Tchaikovsky, "Don Carlos" and "Aida" by J.Verdi, "Per Gunt's Journey" by E.Grieg, "Puss in Boots" by César Cui. The concert repertoire of the choral group includes works by Kazakh, Russian and foreign composers. In the walls of the theatre children have a unique opportunity to absorb the brilliant experience of world masters of art - Placido Domingo, Bruno Casoni (chief choirmaster of La Scala theatre), Alan Buribayev, Abzal Mukhitdin, Yerzhan Dautov, Aidar Abzhakhanov, Giuseppe Acquaviva, Davide Livermore, Mikhail Panjavidze, Yuri Grigorovich and others.
The first experience of the ballet studio students was performing in the ballet Don Quixote by L. Minkus, which the legendary La Scala Theatre in Milan presented during its tour on 30 June - 4 July 2014. The repertoire of the children's ballet studio includes the following performances: Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker and The Sleeping Beauty, M. Jarre's Notre Dame de Paris, E. Grieg's Per Gunt's Journey, Puccini's La Bohème, as well as variations from ballets, ensemble performances, Kazakh dances and modern compositions of different stylistic directions. In October 2014, a tour of the Mariinsky Theatre took place, and pupils of the studio took part in the operas The Gold of the Rhine and Valkyrie from R. Wagner's epic cycle The Ring of the Nibelung under the baton of Valery Gergiev.
Every year on Children's Day, 1 June, the theatre's Chamber hall hosts a concert at which pupils of the Children's Chorus and Ballet Studio demonstrate their skills. Young artists also take part in repertoire concerts in the theatre's Chamber hall: "Musical Variety", "Melodies of the Screen", "Christmas Concerts" and "Children Are Invited to the Theatre".
Over the years, the students of the studio have become laureates of many festivals and competitions, including the Republican Competition-Festival of Children's and Youth Creativity "Me and Dance", Dance MIX Competition-Festival, Festival of Arts "Rhythm of Creativity", International Dance Championship "Live by Dancing". The Children's Choir was awarded the title of the winner of the first prize of the International Arts Olympiad "Kursinale-2015" in the nomination "Theatre" for the performance "Visiting the Queen" (directed by Natalia Kagady).
The theatre brings together many talents in its work: not only actors, but also artists who invent and paint the scenery, prop makers, whose skilful hands create objects that the audience sees on stage, fashion designers and skilled seamstresses who dress the characters in beautiful costumes, and are able to turn colourful scraps into a real work of art.
Since the beginning of 2022, the Astana Opera Theatre has started enrolling children in the children's studio of theatre crafts, where the younger generation is given the opportunity to learn the skills of their future profession under the guidance of experienced teachers. The works of young artists take part in thematic exhibitions in the foyer of the Chamber hall.
Many children, having passed the preparatory path in the children's studio of Astana Opera Theatre, chose art-related professions and entered the Kazakh National University of Arts, Kazakh National Academy of Choreography, Tchaikovsky College of Music, as well as universities in Italy, Germany, Austria and Great Britain. The children's studio of Astana Opera Theatre fulfils an important mission of aesthetic education of the younger generation.

Admission Information
1) Opera Studio
Boys and girls of 7-12 years old with bright vocal (sounding voice) and acting data, good musical memory and sense of rhythm, who study in parallel in a music school, are accepted to the children's choir. Competitive audition will be carried out in two stages: the first - in absentia on video materials, the second - in person. First stage. In order to participate, it is necessary to record a video of a child singing, fill in an application form (a sample is attached below) and send it together with the video to the e-mail address al.ahmetova2002@gmail.com
Video requirements: singing one verse and chorus of any song a cappella (without musical accompaniment), either with piano or minus. Video recordings with a phonogram to plus are not considered. The second stage is held in the theatre "Astana Opera" according to the results of the first stage at the invitation of the choirmaster of the children's choir. For the full-time audition it is necessary to prepare a vocal number and a poem.
2) Ballet Studio
Girls and boys from 6 to 12 years old are accepted for classical ballet training (it is possible without preliminary training) after a face-to-face viewing by a children's ballet tutor of the child's physical data: slenderness, flexibility of form, lightness of body, stretching, absence of curvature in the spine, absence of flat feet, high jump, sense of rhythm, musical data. Children should be dressed as follows: comfortable tight-fitting clothes to demonstrate stretching - leotard or tights, socks (you can bring your own clothes), girls' hair should be gathered in a bump.
Training takes place in the format of visiting the studio twice a week in accordance with the two shifts in the general education teaching process (in the morning from 8:30 to 10:00, in the afternoon from 16:30 to 18:00, the days of the week of visit are set after the recruitment of the group). 3) Theatre crafts
Girls and boys from 6 to 16 years of age are accepted for training in "Painting and drawing".
Girls and boys from 10 to 16 years of age are accepted for training in "Modelling cutting and sewing".
For training in the direction "Batik and painting on fabrics" girls and boys from 10 to 16 years old are accepted.
Girls and boys from 10 to 16 years old are accepted for training in the direction of "Woodcarving".
