Aydar Abzhakhanov

Conductor Honored worker of the RK

He was born in Alma-Ata. He is the conductor of the NTOB «Astana Opera». He graduated from Alma-Ata State conservatory named after Kurmangazi in speciality «Symphonic conducting». After his debut with the Kazakh State Symphony Orchestra Aydar Abzhakhanov entered the St. Petersburg Conservatory named after Rimsky-Korsakov in the class of great Ilya Musin (he graduated from the Conservatory in the class of A. Titov).

In 2005, Aydar Abzhakhanov participated in the Bartok Festival Savaria Symphony (Szombathely, Hungary), in master classes of Zoltan Peshko, in the same year he visited the workshop of Salvador Mas Conde based on Vidin Philarmonic Orchestra in Vienna, Austria. In 2007, Aydar Abzhakhanov had undergone traineeship at La Scala (Milan, Italy). From 2000 to 2013 – the conductor of the NOBT named after K. Baiseitova.

Since 2013 Aidar Abzhakhanov is a conductor of Astana Opera state theatre of opera and ballet.

Aydar Abzhakhanov as conductor and director implemented a number of plays, including «The Nutcracker», «Swan Lake» by P.I. Tchaikovsky, «Giselle», «Le Corsaire» by A. Adan, «Coppelia» by L. Delibes, «Esmeralda» by Ts. Puni, «La Sylphide» by H. Levenskhold, «Shopeniana» by F. Chopin, «Carnival» by R. Schumann, «Polovtsian Dances» by A. Borodin, «La Bayadere», «Don Quixote» by L. Minkus and others.
