Rustem Seitbekov

Honoured Worker of Kazakhstan

Born in Tashkent. In 2000, he graduated from the Almaty Choreographic School named after A. Seleznev and was invited to the K. Baisseitova National Opera and Ballet Theatre as a soloist.

In 2007, he completed an internship and training course at the Teatro alla Scala (Milan, Italy).

In 2013, he worked as a soloist of the State Opera and Ballet Theatre Astana Opera. Since 2014, he has been a teacher-repetiteur and soloist of the State Opera and Ballet Theatre Astana Opera.

In 2014, he graduated from the Chelyabinsk State Pedagogical University with a major in folk creative arts, andwas awarded the qualification of artistic director of choreographic group, a teacher”.

He performed lead roles in such ballets as Swan LakeThe Sleeping BeautyThe Nutcracker by P.Tchaikovsky; The Fountain of Bakhchisarai by B.Asafyev, Carmen Suite by G.Bizet, R.Shchedrin, Giselle and Le Corsaire byA.AdamWalpurgisnacht by Ch.Gounod, La Fille mal gardée by P.HertelLa Sylphide by H.Levenskhold, LaEsmeralda by C.Pugni, B. Eifman’s ballet RodinRomeo and Juliet by S.Prokofiev, Notre-Dame de Paris by M.Jarrea piece from Carmen by G.Bizet, staged by R.Petit; as well as roles in ballets Alkissa by R.Salavatov, Don Quixote and La Bayadère by L.Minkus, Coppélia by L.DelibesCarnaval by R.Schumann and others.

Awards and achievements:

Winner of the Audience Award at the International Festival of Creative Youth Shabyt (Astana, 2002);

Laureate of the International Festival of Creative Youth Shabyt (Astana, 2004, 2009);

Diploma winner of the International Competition Baiterek (Astana, 2009);

Commemorative medal for participation in the meeting of representatives of Kazakhstan’s creative youth with the Pope John Paul II, who visited Astana in 2001;

Honoured Worker of Kazakhstan (2012).
