– This is my first visit to Kazakhstan. I am very interested in getting to know the people of Kazakhstan, their culture and history. I would like to learn more about the Astana Opera House, become acquainted with its repertoire, and perform works of Polish and Hungarian composers for Kazakhstani audience. Liszt’s music is very close to my artistic soul; it is also a topic of my doctoral thesis. I have already recorded two albums of his music and am now preparing the next one. Frederic Chopin’s music is very well known, but I would like to show my own interpretation of his works, – shared Wojciech Valechek.
The evening will feature three «?tudes d’Ex?cution Transcendante d’Apr?s Paganini» and piano transcriptions of six «Chants Polonais de Frederic Chopin» by F. Liszt, «Variations Brillantes» and three waltzes by F. Chopin.
– Characteristic features of the greatest representative of the Hungarian School Franz Liszt are his brilliance, power, brightness of colours, bravura, and pathos. Through the piano, he expressed the sound of a symphony orchestra. Liszt’s virtuosity and boundless technical possibilities to this day remain a benchmark for contemporary pianists. His works have a very wide range of genres. Frederic Chopin is a poet of the piano. Finesse, elegance and grace distinguish the musical style of this great Polish composer. By playing the piano, Chopin subtly revealed his inner world, expressed philosophy of life, – noted musicologist Marzhan Zhakenova.
Wojciech Valechek is a laureate of numerous international piano competitions such as the II International Competition for Young Pianists «Arthur Rubinstein in Memoriam», where he received the special prize of the Ko?ciuszko Foundation in New York (USA), International Franz Liszt «Premio Mario Zan?» Piano Competition in Parma (Italy), International Piano Seiler Competition in Palermo (Italy) and others.
