Summing up: La Scala Has Completed the Tour in Astana
The famous Teatro alla Scala’s tour was completed with great success in Astana. All six performances of the Milanese company were sold out. This means about 7,500 spectators. People from near and far abroad came to see the guest performances of La Scala at the Astana Opera. Tickets were purchased online from Switzerland, Singapore, Latvia, the USA and other countries.
Let us remind that the orchestra, choir and soloists of the world’s most famous opera house have presented at the Astana Opera G. Verdi’s opera Falstaff four times and L. van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 two times. Music critics highly praised the Kazakhstani tour of La Scala.
Before the closing performance, the Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Arystanbek Mukhamediuly expressed his sincere gratitude to the company of the Mianese opera house, the outstanding maestro of modern times Zubin Mehta for the joy of meeting with true art given to music lovers. “We hope that our creative contacts aimed at the prosperity of the cultures of both countries will continue, because the language of music is universal, it is a bridge of friendship connecting our peoples. We wish Maestro Zubin Mehta, CEO and Artistic Director Alexander Pereira and the whole staff of the Teatro alla Scala health, great creative success and prosperity,” concluded the Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Arystanbek Mukhamediuly.
The week and a half raced like one day. The performances of the creative team of the legendary Teatro alla Scala brought the attention of the entire world music community to the capital of Kazakhstan. They also caused great resonance in the Kazakhstani and foreign media. For instance, the audience in Italy watched with special attention the performances of the artists of La Scala at the Astana Opera: the national TV channel RAI broadcast news from the place of the event.
Expenditures for the stay of such famous theatre in Kazakhstan were assumed by the energy company Eni and the opera house’s social partner – Samruk-Kazyna Trust. Undoubtedly, Milanese performances have become an excellent celebration of high art and have adorned the cultural program of the EXPO-2017, prepared by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, under the auspices of which the tour was held.
